Executive Officer Nominations

Good morning! 

The Virginia Association of Wetland Professionals (VAWP) is seeking nominees for Executive Officers for the 2024 calendar year.

The Executive Officers of VAWP include the President, Vice-President, Executive Secretary, Treasurer, and the Immediate Past President. 

Two of these positions include a three-year commitment. The Vice President automatically assumes the Office of President following their term as Vice President, and then the role of Immediate Past President in the following year. The Treasurer position is a three-year term position in order to provide continuity for the organization’s finances.

Candidate Forms are due by Friday, November 10th, 2023.

All members of the Board and Committees are responsible for developing ideas for the Annual Spring and Fall Meetings and other events; boosting membership/participation; soliciting new sponsors and maintaining relationships with current/past sponsors; providing relevant and topical information for the VAWP website and distribution to the membership; and maintaining the VAWP goals, policies, and objectives.  In addition, all members of the Board and Committee Chairs are responsible for maintaining electronic and, as appropriate, hard copy files of the activities associated with their position during their term and transferring these files to their replacement.

Executive Officers will be elected by a majority vote of VAWP members through elections which will be held virtually the week of the VAWP Annual Fall Meeting, on Friday, November 17, 2023 (register for the meeting here) . Results will be announced at the conclusion of the Annual Business Meeting.
